Economische waarde top 32 voetbalclubs Europa is 30 miljard euro (top 32)

Een nieuw rapport over de economische waarde van de clubs uit de top van Europa vertelt ons dat ze gezamenlijk bijna 30 miljard euro waard zijn.

Dit schrijft KPNG in na uitgebreid onderzoek op en is te lezen in: Football Clubs’ Valuation: The European Elite 2017. Het betreft hier 32 clubs uit zes landen. Want ja, ook Ajax en PSV staan in het lijstje.

Wel onderaan, maar toch! De economische waarde is bepaald door de ‘merkwaarde’, de sponsorwaarde en de waarde van de competitie waar ze in spelen bij elkaar op te tellen. Lees meer over Economische waarde top 32 voetbalclubs Europa…

Economische waarde top 32 voetbalclubs in Europa is 30 miljard euro (top 32)

Manchester heeft een economische waarde van ergens tussen de 3 en 3,2 miljard euro. Manchester wordt gevolgd door onze Spaanse vrienden van Real Madrid, minimaal 2,9 miljard euro en Barcelona met minimaal 2,7 miljard.

Bijzonderheden:

• Manchester United is de eerste club die de grens van 3 miljard euro doorbreekt
• De top 10 is verantwoordelijk voor 2/3e van de totale waarde
• Britse clubs uit de Premier League hebben wel zes teams bij de eerste tien staan
• In groei, ten opzicht van 2016, doet Olympique Marseille het het best met een waardegroei van 71 procent, gevolgd door het Turkse Galatasaray (+68 procent) en het Spaanse Sevilla (+44 procent)
• In de editie van 2017 mogen we drie nieuwe clubs in top 32 begroeten: Leicester City, Athletic Club Bilbao en Beşiktaş.
• Leicester City is de hoogste nieuwe binnenkomer op nummer 16

Andrea Sartori, baas sport bij de KPMG: “In terms of media rights value, the English Premier League sits comfortably at the top of European leagues, although other major leagues have outlined well-defined strategies to compete for the attention of global fans. However, unlike other factors, an individual club’s ability to influence their broadcasting income is often limited, despite the very evident impact this revenue stream has on their Enterprise Value.”

Ën verder vertelt Sartori: “The aggregate value of Europe’s 32 leading football clubs suggests that the overall value of football, as an industry, has grown. While this is partially explained by football’s broadcasting boom, the internationalisation of the clubs’ commercial operations, their investment into privately-owned and modern facilities, and overall more sustainable management practices, are also key reasons for this growth.”
